CLIMBING UP THE WALLS

According to the Climbing up the Walls Songfacts, Thom Yorke said that this song is about 'the cupboard monster'.

Jonny Greenwood was influenced by Krzysztof Penderecki's Threnody to the Victims of Hiroshima when writing the string arrangements for this track from OK Computer. Although the lyrics communicate paranoia and claustrophobia – they draw partly on Thom Yorke's work as an orderly in a mental hospital – the song is, strangely, warmer than its classical predecessor.
